Euclid + Jayne creates Objects of Affection: unique pieces that bring joy to the user. Launched in 2015 by designer and Oakland native, Alexis Vilay, her intention is to infuse objects we all use on a daily basis with everyday luxury. All products are made by hand using traditional dying and construction methods, many can take up to five hours or more to construct.
Alexis is currently exploring the relationship between symmetry and organic imperfections through the use of shibori inspired folding techniques and natural indigo dye. Fabric is folded and tied in order to achieve a specific pattern, while at the same time dye is dripping and seeping into the fabric ways that we cannot control. The result is a unique work of art that is both beautiful and functional.
Objects of Affection are currently available to purchase at the following Bay Area locations:
Celery Space, at 1714 San Pablo Ave. in Berkeley
